Application For Baptism
What is Water Baptism?
It is a command. Jesus commanded us Saying:
“Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19 (CSB)
The church obeys this command by baptizing and Christians obey this command by getting baptized.

Why Should I Be Baptized?
Baptism is an important step to take for every person who has accepted Jesus as their Savior. It is a public proclamation that they have died to themselves and now live for Christ. It is also important because Jesus commanded us to be baptized and we should always obey His commands.

It is a picture. Baptism is a symbol of the believers relationship and identity with Christ. Have you ever seen any of those mime presentations that tell a story or illustrate a truth? Baptism illustrates what happened in your life when you accepted Jesus as your Savior.
Romans 6:3-4 says: "Or are you unaware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.” (CSB)
When you accepted Jesus, your old nature died (that nature that made you sin) and a new nature was born (read Romans 6:5-6). The Bible calls this being born again (John 3:3)
Baptism illustrates this miracle of the new birth. When we go into the water, that symbolizes the death and burial of our old nature, and when we come out of the water, that illustrates our new birth and resurrection from the dead.

Therefore, Baptism does not save a person but is a symbol or outward demonstration of the result of Salvation in your life. For this reason, only those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior should be baptized.

If you have accepted Jesus into your heart, and you understand what baptism means and symbolizes, you should do it at the next scheduled baptism service. Calvary does have an age requirement of 7 years or older for baptism.
"As they were traveling down the road, they came to some water. The eunuch said, "Look, there's water. What would keep me from being baptized?" So he ordered the chariot to stop, and both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him." Acts 8:36-38 (CSB)

How is Baptism Administered?
The word baptism comes from the Greek word “baptizo” which means to fully immerse. Therefore, baptism is the immersion of the believer underwater. Some churches practice the pouring or sprinkling of water, but this does not fully illustrate the death and rebirth of the person.
What Should I Bring?
· Bring a towel, a bathing suit and a change of clothes.
· Please wear conservative bathing suits or clothing. T-shirts must be worn over all bathing suits. Avoid wearing light colored T-shirts that become translucent when wet.
